Preparation

October 9, 2012

It is only 5 days before we fly out on our holiday to New Zealand and East Australia and I have created this blog so family and friends can, if they want follow our our progress. I am hoping to update this regularly subject to wi-fi access. Have started to organise things to do on the plane to keep me going on what will be around 27hrs flying time excluding short stops at Singapore (2.5hrs) and Sydney (3hrs). DVD’s, books, music are all on the menu plus finalising the plans for the first week of our travel. On arrival we have 2 nights in Auckland before picking up our camper-van which will be home for the next 4wks. We aim to spend around 14 days in the North island before crossing to the South Island for the remaining time. On the 15 Nov we fly into Sydney to met by our friends Lynda and Steve Parish and will spend 4 nights with them in Newcastle which is a couple of hours north of Sydney. We will then journey up to Brisbane taking 4 days to get there, no real idea where we will stay but that is all part of the experience. On the 23 Nov we fly to Hamilton Island which is on the Barrier Reef and spend 5 nights there before returning to Brisbane for a couple of nights. We then start our travel home via Singapore arriving back at Heathrow at 5.30am on Sat 1st Dec.

So that’s our adventure which we are both looking forward to and I hope we will be able convey
